  • Power Up Your Home Remodel!

    Power Up Your Home Remodel!

A hot topic with our Team at The Cleary Company is energy use at the office. We frequently ask ourselves ~

    • What can we do to be more energy efficient?
    • How can we save energy and lower our utility costs?
    • What changes can we make to create a cleaner Earth? (both in the office & in our client’s homes!)

There are many things you can do at home to save energy and harness energy from the sun. While some of these can be more costly than others, just thinking about them, could lead you to making small changes now. Here’s what we’re doing now and upgrades we’re planning for the future!

Changes You Can Make to Use Less Electricity in Your Home

Motion Sensor Lights – using right now – visit our office to see how they work!

It’s a simple switch! When the sensor detects motion the light comes on and if no movement is detected after a predetermined time the light shuts off. Motion sensor lights are compatible for home & commercial spaces.

    • They can be installed on interior & exterior surfaces — walls, doorways, ceilings and entrances.
    • Use them for safety or convenience. Lights turn on as you enter a room. Basements, attics and closets are popular uses at home.
    • User friendly and has many benefits when incorporating Universal Design into your remodeling project.

Our Team feels safer when working late at the office with the majority of our lights having motion sensors.

    Solar panels – coming soon!

Drive through a neighborhood almost anywhere in central Ohio and look up at the roofs. We guarantee on some house or building, you’ll see solar panels installed. In Ohio, with the number of gray days we have you’d think having solar panels wouldn’t be a great idea. Guess what? They are! Prices for the installation of solar panels have dropped over the last 10 years and now might be the time to install them on your home.

    • You will still have a utility bill, but you may have credits for months that the panels generate more power than you use.
    • Solar energy is cheaper, cleaner than standard power-grid based electricity and is “green”. Harnessing the power of the sun is beneficial to the health of the Earth.
    • Read more information here: https://www.solarreviews.com/solar-panels/ohio

Energy-efficient appliances – using right now – visit our office to see how they work!

Investing in energy-efficient appliances has a positive impact on our environment and your bank account. Advancements in energy-efficient appliances have made it possible to reduce the amount of energy needed to get the same work done. Benefits include:

    • Using less water while in use.
    • Smaller energy load needed.
    • Wash your clothes using cold water.
    • Refrigerators create less heat and better insulation helps food stay colder and fresher.
    • Heating elements in dishwashers to heat the water uses less hot water. AND contrary to what you might think, running your dishwasher uses less water than hand washing.

LED lightbulbs – using right now – visit our office to see how they work!

According to the US Department of Energy, 10 percent of your home’s electric bill is from using lights.

    • Changing to LED lightbulbs, while more expensive at the beginning, usually offsets the cost of your bill over time. Not only that, but you’ll also go through lightbulbs less frequently, meaning fewer lightbulbs in the landfill.
    • Add Smart devices to your existing lighting – you’ll save even more in cost and energy. Read more about Smart Technology on our blog!

Buying a New Car? Consider Going Electric!

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations – just installed!

With more electric car models now available, we’re seeing more and more of them on the road. This got us thinking—will we have clients and guests visit our office driving electric cars? Will some of our Team members start driving electric cars? Will our next company van be electric? And as we pondered these questions, we concluded that having an electric car charging station at the office is a great business investment.

The value we see in EV charging stations is:

    • Help the environment
    • Provide a needed service to local EV charging options
    • Make it easy for our Team to drive electric cars
    • Convenience to our clients who drive an EV
    • Attract new customers
    • Prepare for the future during your next remodel!

Did you know there’s an online directory for finding EV charging stations? PlugShare!

    Ready to discuss your remodel?

Our Team is ready to discuss and collaborate with you to decide what energy-saving options you can incorporate into your home remodeling project. We’re here to help!

And we are using, or have plans to use all these here at our office. We are hoping to install an electric car charger that can be used by our clients or any of our Team. We have discussed getting solar panels and are “electrified” about the possibility! We are already using energy-saving appliances, as well as LED lightbulbs and motion sensor lights.

Our Team can show you how to use efficiently power your home. Contact our Client Relations Coordinator today to schedule a conversation.

  • Project Development Career Path in Home Remodeling

Project Development Career Path in Home Remodeling

Are you interested in a career in residential remodeling sales but don’t know how to get started?

The growth of the remodeling and home building industries through the past 8-10 years, in Central Ohio, has created a need for not only labor from workers who are in the skilled trades but also for sales professionals to meet with potential clients and educate them on home remodeling costs, timelines, and more.

At The Cleary Company Remodel Design Build in Columbus Ohio, we use a team approach for collaboration to create the scope and plan to meet our client’s needs. Through the process of working together, the Project Developer, Designer, Estimator, Design Consultant and Project Manager ensure the client is getting a great experience along with a project that meets their needs.

What does a Project Developer do?

The simple answer is sales! The Project Developer (PD) is the initial face of The Cleary Company. Their job is to support clients through the home remodeling process. They must continually communicate with our clients throughout all phases of their project.

Think of them as the quarterback of the client’s project. At many high-end remodeling companies, like The Cleary Company, Project Developers have design or estimating backgrounds, and some have both! Project Developer Jayde Boyd, she earned a BFA in Interior Architecture & Design from Ohio University and spent several years in bathroom and kitchen sales before joining our Team in 2019 in the Project Developer role.

Duties for a Project Developer/Salesperson vary from company to company but at The Cleary Company our PDs:

    • Engage with clients throughout their project, start to finish.
    • Create space plans and designs that address clients’ needs.
    • Collaborate with our Design & Project Consultants on the planning of projects.
    • Create budgets and scopes of work for their projects.
    • Coordinate all pre-construction project meetings.
    • Write & present contracts.

Project Developer Q&A – Jen Sommers, CR, Allied ASID

How did you get your start in remodeling?

I owned my own design business for several years and also worked for a small remodeling company doing sales, estimating and project management. I came to TCC as a Design Coordinator and then moved into an Estimator position. In 2020 when the Home Services division was created George & Aaron gave me the opportunity to create and lead this Team.

How would you describe your role as a PD?

Project Development is collaborative process to create a plan for our Production Team to execute. I coordinate the information from my clients to my Team. I work with our Designers, Estimators, Design Consultants and Project Managers from creating the scope of work to the design to creating the budget. Our clients have one point of contact from conception to completion.

What 3 things do you try to teach clients during the development of their project?

    • Setting expectations early and often.
    • Schedule and pricing are not guaranteed, but we always do our best to be on time & on budget.
    • Communication during development and into construction is important.

    Just for Fun!

    Describe your favorite TCC project.

My favorite projects are ones with big transformations and satisfied clients at the end of the project. Kitchen or basement updates or adding a bar to existing spaces.

  • Bathroom Remodel ROI

    Bathroom Remodel ROI

Your bathroom is one of the most important rooms in your home. After all, you use it every day! Remodeling a bathroom is a big decision, but one you’ll never regret. Our Team at The Cleary Company Remodel-Design-Build has over 28 years of experience remodeling bathrooms for our clients in Columbus, Ohio.

Remodeling a bathroom adds not only to your satisfaction but also increases the value of your home. According to the 2022 Remodeling Impact Report from The National Association of Realtors® (NAR) Research Group and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), remodeling your bathroom has a cost recovery of 71%!  This yearly report contains valuable information about remodeling that we feel is worth your time to read.

What does the report tell us about a bathroom remodel?

Americans spent $420 billion in 2020 on remodeling their homes according to a study from the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University. While most consumers responded they would have remodeled regardless of the pandemic, 86 percent of consumers report remodeling one area of their home made them want to then remodel other areas of their home.

Let’s focus on what the report says about completing bathroom remodels. NAR utilizes a Joy score for each project based on happiness. And since we know we bring joy to our clients when we complete remodeling projects in their homes, we love the name of this score! The Joy score for renovating a bathroom? 9.6/10! That’s a whole bunch of joy!

Remodeling a bathroom has a cost recovery value of 71%. “REALTORS® provided an estimate of the likely dollar value each project would add to the house at resale. In comparing that dollar value to the estimated cost of each project provided by NARI members, a Recovered Project Cost percentage was calculated.”

It’s important to realize that NARI Remodelers placed the cost estimate of a bathroom remodel at $35,000 (nationwide). Realtors® estimated a cost recovery is $25,000, so 71% is the percent of value recovered from the project.

National Association of REALTORS® Research Group – 2022 Remodeling Impact Report page 24

And this is interesting—84% of consumers would have undertaken the project, regardless of the pandemic. And we have seen this isn’t slowing down. We get calls weekly to discuss renovating bathrooms, both primary, guest and kids’ bathrooms.

  • Styling Your Bathroom Remodel

    Styling Your Bathroom Remodel

Bathroom Must-Haves to Personalize Your New Space

We remodeled your bathroom—now what? You’ve perused all the magazines, pinned ideas on your Pinterest board, and wandered through Target and IKEA to find accessory ideas. Do you know what you need for your beautifully reimagined bathroom?

Our Design Team has a few ideas for you. Though by no means an exhaustive list, we are here to get you started on the must-haves for your bathroom!

    Details

    • Fluffy towels are a must. Choose ones that either complement or contrast with the bathroom. If your color palette is neutral, a bold-colored towel might be just the pop you need. Check out these Simply Vera Turkish cotton towels from Kohls!
    • Matching coordinated bottles to hold soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Amazon has some great stylish options. Just transfer your products!
    • Baskets and decorative boxes can play a part in the aesthetic of the bathroom as well as keep your new space organized. A little can go a long way, so don’t overcrowd the room with too many items. Check out Wayfair.com!
    • A pretty tray used on the counter corrals items you want in easy reach. Like these from the Container Store!
    • Don’t forget the floor—a small washable rug in front of the sink provides color and keeps the feet warmer too. Rugs USA has great tips on choosing the right rug for your space.
    • Add plants! Choose plants that work well with natural lighting. Succulents and low-maintenance plants are best. Check out Greendigs online or locally on Grandview Ave! And don’t worry if you don’t have a green thumb, opt for faux plants. There are some realistic options out there.
    • Add some seating for those pedicures or hair styling moments—a stool, ottoman, or chair works well. Visit Pier 1 online for fashionable options!
    • Don’t forget some artwork! Our Team recommends HomeGoods‘ wide selection.

Keep Your Bathroom Looking New – Cleaning Tips

It is beautiful now, right? It’s dreamy, organized, and should have its picture taken for Instagram. But life does interfere every day in a bathroom, so here are a few tips to keep it looking sparkly and new!

    • Put items back where they belong before you leave the bathroom. If you have littles (or kids of any age), labeling bins and baskets might be useful.
    • If you have glass shower walls, keep a squeegee in the shower and use it after each shower.
    • Rinse and wipe the sink morning and night. Keep a reusable or microfiber towel that can just be rinsed out to dry to speed up the process. Multi-purpose wipes work as well.
    • Keep needed cleaning supplies in the bathroom so quick cleanups don’t require leaving the bathroom to get the supplies.
    • Clean the toilet several times a week to keep it from getting dirty. A little baking soda and a toilet brush are all you need for quick clean-ups.

  • Planning a Bathroom Remodel for All

Planning a Bathroom Remodel for All

Designing and building with regards to Living in Place and using Universal Design principles means that the home is suitable for the needs of all the individuals aging independently as possible. As you look around your home, what jumps out at you? Are your living spaces functional for aging gracefully and safely for the rest of your life? Are there modifications and changes you need to make while keeping a beautiful aesthetic that functions for your family?

The Cleary Company’s Remodel Design Build Team in the Columbus area has the experience and expertise to create a functional plan for your home to Live in Place. We have helped many families create spaces that are accessible and beautiful.

Universal Design isn’t something most homeowners think about when building or remodeling a home, but it is something we discuss frequently with our clients. Living In Place or Universal Design, both used interchangeably, is simply defined as a home designed and built to be used and accessed easily by all people no matter their age, size, or abilities. This universal approach to design and construction is all about planning and details. What products, features, and space planning considerations need to be in place for the space to function for all?

Living in Place design elements for the bathroom

Your bathroom is your private sanctuary but it’s also the most heavily used space in your home. Spending time discussing all of the details needed for a safe and functional space is time and money well-spent! Our Design Team reviews and recommends the following to all our bathroom remodeling clients.

    • Zero-entry or low threshold shower wide enough to accommodate two adults (should a caregiver be necessary)
    • Handheld showerhead and moving the shower controls closer to the entry part of the shower
    • A shower seat that is movable (there are some gorgeous teak options available!) or one that is permanent and folds down
    • Faucets and plumbing fixtures with lever handles, anti-scald controls and pressure balances are preferred for ease of use as well as safety
    • Comfort height toilet preferably (with a bidet seat!) and if possible reposition the toilet to allow for wheelchair transfer
    • Grab bars in the shower and beside the toilet
    • Bathroom vanity style with a counter that is accessible for a wheelchair, a seat, or small children
    • Mirror placement that allows everyone to use it
    • Flooring throughout with slip-resistant qualities
    • Accessible storage – drawers and shelves at varying heights
    • Pocket or barn door entry
    • Lever-style door handles

Additional changes to consider for all of the main living spaces

While incorporating all of these updates can be extensive, they are the recommendations we routinely discuss with all of our clients.

    • Widening entryways and hallways to allow for walkers, wheelchairs or scooters
    • Opening up the floorplan for traffic flow and visibility
    • Using countertops of varying heights in the kitchen & as well as bathrooms
    • Moving switches and outlets for easier reach
    • Replacing carpet with hardwood, vinyl or tile flooring that is easier to navigate
    • Adding a bedroom/bathroom to the main floor if one doesn’t exist (or planning for a future need)
    • Limit or eliminate the steps needed to enter the home when possible

Your entire home can be improved to allow for you or a family member to Live in Place regardless of age or ability. Beginning with your bathroom is a great place to start! Planning now for long-term function means you don’t have to scramble to do it when you really need it should an unexpected medical issue arise.

  • August Home Maintenance Checklist

    August Home Maintenance Checklist

Do late summer temperatures have you cooling off indoors? You may want to take this opportunity to tackle removing the dust & allergens from your home’s appliances. Hot & humid summer weather in Columbus, Ohio has a tendency to fill homes with a lot of dirt, dust & debris.

Planning & sticking to a seasonal maintenance plan will ensure your home is in tip-top shape. Don’t fret, you’ll still have plenty of time to enjoy the sunshine!

Our Remodel-Design-Build Production Team at The Cleary Company has put together a maintenance checklist to get you started.

    Air Conditioner Maintenance

    • Replace filter It’s important to replace the air filter on your central heating/cooling system regularly (preferably, every one to three months) to keep it operating efficiently. This task will also improve the air quality in your home. These filters are designed to collect dust, spores, hair, dander, and other particles from the air that is exchanged through the system. It will also save you money on your energy bill!
    • Check drain pan & lines To prevent a system shutdown and condensation leaks around your air conditioner, take some time to inspect the drain pan and condensate drain line. Like water droplets that form on a cold drink in summer when warm air passes over extremely cold evaporator coils, condensation forms and drips into a drain pan below. Unfortunately, sometimes condensate drain pans and lines can get damaged or clogged and cause quite a mess. If you detect an issue contact your HVAC professional!

    Bathroom & Kitchen Maintenance

    • Clean exhaust vent Your bathroom is probably your home’s most used room and you probably clean it weekly but probably never think about the exhaust fan. They are typically hidden in the ceiling and easy to forget, but don’t! A fan covered in dust doesn’t work efficiently. More importantly, dust build-up can eventually lead to mold, mildew and in extreme cases a house fire! Check out FamilyHandyman.com for this and other step-by-step projects.
    • Degrease range hood Over time, the filter & fan underneath your range hood (or if microwave is overtop there’s also a filter & fan) collects grease and if it’s doing its job correctly it’s going to get icky. If it becomes blocked it will lose its effectiveness which is why this unpleasant task needs regular attention.
      • What You Need – very hot or boiling water, degreasing dish soap (Dawn works very well), baking soda, non-abrasive scrub brush, paper towels or dishcloth
    • Vacuum refrigerator coils The location of your appliances coils with either be at the bottom or behind. Remove the “toe kick” plate if located below, or if behind pull forward until able to reach. Using the crevice upholstery tool on your shop vac remove all visible dirt & dust on, above and below the coils. Don’t forget the floors under & behind! This is also a good time to do a deep clean of the interior. Check out this detailed video showing step-by-step instructions!
    • Clean garbage disposal & dishwasher – Summer’s heat & humidity increases bacteria production, especially in the dark, damp conditions in your garbage disposal. Over-the-counter disposal cleaners work well to disinfect and remove any clogs. This is also a good time to clean out your cabinet under the sink and check for any bug or rodent activity.

Now you’re ready for some summer fun! Need help with any of these tasks? Contact us today for trusted handyman referrals!

  • Client Profile: Basement Remodel in Powell, OH

Client Profile: Basement Remodel in Powell, OH

When Kelly and Asvin contacted us in June of 2020 their basement was only halfway finished with an entertainment space and half bath. They and their three small children enjoyed hanging out there, but the unfinished side was empty and ready to be overhauled into livable space.

They had big ideas for their unfinished basement and they did their research online. After searching for “home remodeling Columbus, Ohio” and landing on our website, they liked our portfolio and contacted our Team to start collaborating on new spaces for their family. Now they feel that the whole house is what they dreamed it would be!

    Q & A with Kelly & Asvin Powell, OH

What was the goal for your basement remodel?

To create more functional and livable space for our three small children and extended family who come to visit. Expanding the existing half-bath into a full bath with a shower, was also important since there will be family staying in the new bedrooms. In addition, as our kids get older, they may want to move into one of the basement bedrooms. Finally, we wanted consistency within our home, as the other half of the basement was already finished. Now the whole basement is completed.

What features of your remodeled space are your favorites?

I really like that we were able to maintain a good deal of light with the addition of the egress windows. The pocket door on the bathroom that opens to the bigger bedroom is great since it saves space in both the bedroom and bathroom! The colors that our designer, Katie, helped us pick out are light earth tones, which help bring a good deal of light into the space. We were able to create a bonus area with a built-in desk in one of the bedrooms, which is perfect for guests and our kids as a place to get away and get homework done.

What advice would you offer to someone who is remodeling their home?

    • The biggest thing is be comfortable with who you hire.
    • Don’t be swayed by a design or idea that doesn’t resonate with you.
    • Financially it’s a big investment and you want to have your voice heard.
    • Be comfortable with voicing your opinion throughout the project and you will be happy with the end result. I was able to have open dialogue anytime I was unsure of an idea or plan and we were always able to come to a solution we were all happy with.
    • The Cleary Company did an excellent job involving us during the process of the project. Our opinions were always heard and acknowledged.

    The Cleary Company Remodel Difference

Why did you choose The Cleary Company to complete your remodeling project?

I did some online searches to begin the process. The Cleary Company’s finished projects that we saw on their website really resonated with us. We did meet with a few other companies, but they just didn’t meet our expectations or grasp the aesthetic we wanted for this project. When we met with The Cleary Company, it just clicked. They spent the time to get to know us and understand our expectations and preferences. We really liked the time they spent with us.

We connected with the team that we worked with. Robert was great at explaining the process, timeline, and realistic expectations of the cost. We felt extremely comfortable with The Cleary Company from the beginning. The end result is a reflection of the work we were expecting.

What was your favorite part of working with The Cleary Company?

I really liked all of the crew that came in. This project took place right in the middle of COVID. Everyone was very respectful of the fact we had a baby and small children and wore masks. We work in healthcare and needed minimum exposure. There was great communication and we knew when people would be there. Every day when I went down into the basement, it was clean. You wouldn’t have known they had worked that day as there was no dust or fumes. We could continue to live in our house!

Was there a TCC team member(s) who stood out and if yes, how did they exceed your expectations?

Everyone was always attentive. Our Lead Carpenter went above and beyond building our custom shelves. Katie, our Designer, was very receptive to our needs. Little things that the Team did were really special. The guys working on the basement even bought a toy tool kit for our boys. The boys loved learning from them and knew everyone’s names that worked on our project. They went above and beyond!

    Just for Fun!

If you were asked to explain in one word why you choose to do business with The Cleary Company, what would it be?

Trustworthy! We trusted them with our home and never felt led astray.

Would you recommend The Cleary Company?

Yes, I definitely would and actually have already recommended them!

  • Top 5 Bathroom Products for Your Remodel

Top 5 Bathroom Products for Your Remodel

Everyone has a Top 5 list, right? Top 5 restaurants, books, places to vacation, breweries, sports teams, etc. Just like you, our Remodel-Design-Build Team at The Cleary Company, in Columbus, OH, has Top 5 lists. We’re sharing ours for bathroom products!

This Top 5 list highlights some of the tried-and-true go-to items favored by the collaborative relationship between our Design Team and clients. We enjoy being creative, thinking outside of the box, and making our clients’ visions come to life.

Our Top 5 Bathroom Products…in no particular order

Bathroom Addition in Attic Suite – Bexley OH
    1. Frameless Shower—The options for showers are endless but we prefer the custom glass shower enclosures. Aesthetically frameless showers create unobstructed views with no bulky frames and complement almost any design style. Our clients like them for easier maintenance! Since the glass makes direct contact with tile or porcelain panel, it eliminates the build-up in the metal track of its framed counterpart.
    2. Bidet Toilet Seat—This product can be added on to your existing or new toilet! Kohler has a variety of styles and options to choose from. Although used widely in European and Asian countries bidets are not as commonly used in the United States. The benefits of having a bidet are not only personal but environmental! Cleansing with water can be a cleaner, more refreshing alternative to toilet paper alone, plus potentially limit germ spread, and allow you to use less or completely eliminate the use of toilet paper.
    3. Lighted Mirror—Backlit and lighted mirrors are stunning, and they can give any area a modern, sophisticated vibe. Both will provide enough lighting for grooming by illuminating the face with a diffuse, even light. LED lights, rather than incandescent lights, are used in most backlit mirrors. As a result, they will consume less energy and last a long time. Robern is our favorite brand!
    4. Cambria Quartz—Where do we even begin? No matter what look our clients want, Cambria quartz products will make a splash. We’ve installed many Cambria bathroom countertops and benches over the years and when they launched their wall cladding, we couldn’t wait to install it on shower walls! Our clients love that they are hygienic, grout-free and low maintenance.
    5. Shower Niche—Prefabricated and custom niches from Schluter are a hit with everyone! Designers like them because they’re easily adaptable to their tile designs. Our Production Team trusts their Kerdi-Board for waterproofing and vapor barrier management. And our clients like the additional storage in their showers.

  • How Much Does an Exterior Home Remodel Cost?

How Much Does an Exterior Home Remodel Cost?

Helpful Information for Pricing Your Next Exterior Project

You know the old saying “You never get a second chance to make a first impression” right?

Ask any realtor how this saying translates to the real estate market and their answer will probably be “Curb Appeal!” The importance of a home’s curb appeal in relation to its value is validated in Remodeling Magazine’s annual Cost vs Value report, as four of the top five returns on investment are for projects relating to a home’s exterior.

So, what does it cost to upgrade your home’s curb appeal or remodel the exterior? Calculating the cost of any remodel requires knowing first the general design, scope and size of the project and this is especially true for a home exterior remodel. Do you just want to add new doors or windows to upgrade your curb appeal or do you also want to change the architectural details of your home’s exterior?

To help you get started planning your next home exterior project, the Team at The Cleary Company Remodel Design Build in Columbus, OH has assembled the following project examples and ballpark budget ranges. We also recommend reviewing the Cost vs Value report mentioned above for additional information on building and remodeling costs in Central Ohio.

    Highlights from KBIS 2022

Have you looked around at your kitchen or bathroom recently thinking, “Something has to change.”? Make this the year you do something about it!

Remodeling your home can make such a big difference in your daily home life. It’s a positive step to take and we are here to help you every step of the way. At The Cleary Company Remodel-Design-Build in Columbus OH, our Designers and Design Consultants listen to your needs and issues with your space and collaborate on a plan that incorporates fixtures and finishes to solve those problems.

In February, four members of our Team attended the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas. Design Consultants Shannon Tannehill & Margot Sheehan came back excited to share with us and their clients all of their favorites.

What trends are they most excited about?

    • Wellness — Focus on nature and “me” time to revitalize the mind and relax the body. Products they loved included:
      • Natufia Smart Garden, grows 32 plants simultaneously with automatic watering and lighting to allow you to enjoy fresh, flavorful, and nutritious-packed plants anywhere, anytime.
      • Kohler bathtubs offer 4 types of bathing features – Soaking, Heated Bubble Massage, Whirlpools, and Vibracoustic. Their signature hydrotherapies create a luxurious spalike experience. Hydrotherapy involves the use of water for soothing an aching body or speeding the recovery of other muscular ailments.
    • Smart Home — Innovations that make ordinary experiences in your home more enjoyable. Some of these products included:
      • Beko Washing Machine – The Eco Recycled Tub is the first washer made from recycled plastic bottles. It uses 30% less energy and features 60 recycled water bottles used to make the drum of each washer.
      • GE Profile Kitchen Hub – An innovative way to have smart home integration. Incorporating U+ connect app and Google Assistant along with a guided cooking app and the ability to stream music, shows and movies.
    • Living in Place — This has been at the forefront of design for the last few years. We need cleanable, multi-use spaces that are bigger and more adaptable, to make life easier at all ages. What we loved:
      • Appliances – LG Signature Kitchen French Door Refrigerator. It features reduced depth for easy access, LED lighting for clear visibility and the bottom drawers are interchangeable between freezer or refrigerator storage.
      • Lighting – A well-lit home is a safer home for all. Natural light plays a huge role in mental and emotional health of all, especially those living alone. Motion sensor lights not only conserve energy but are helpful for moving around your home at night. Toe kick lights on bathroom vanities are also helpful.

What sparked their inspiration at KBIS?

    Color, color, color

Colors are a true reflection of our environment, and the impact our health has had on us the past few years. We saw color in appliances, cabinetry, knobs and drawer pulls, paint, tiles, and more. The reigning colors included:

    • Green—evoking nature, outdoors, organic feel
    • Blue—evoking a feeling of trust
    • Pink—suggesting calmness
    • Taupes—moving us away from grays and bringing earthiness and serenity

    Artfulness

Art can make us feel and react in different ways. Our designers were so intrigued by the artful designs they saw that turned sinks, tubs, shower flooring, shower drains, countertops, tile, lighting, and range hoods into pieces of art for your home.

    Outdoor living

The options are endless for taking cooking and entertaining outdoors. The days of a grill on a patio have been encompassed by outdoor kitchens complete with refrigerators, waste containers, sinks, cabinets, countertops, and pizza ovens. If you want something from your kitchen outside, it can be done!

KBIS always brings our Team new ideas, excitement and energy! We’re ready to incorporate these new products and ideas into our projects for 2022 and beyond.
